Kuwaiti player Mohammed Al-Masoud clinched the title of the fourth edition of the Qatar International Squash Championship for Professionals, hosted by the Qatar Squash Federation, featuring the participation of 16 international players.
Al-Masoud secured the championship after defeating his Qatari counterpart Youssef Faraj in the final match with a score of three sets to two, 7-11, 11-8, 11-6, 7-11, 11-6.
Al-Masoud advanced to the final after overcoming Iranian player Sepaher Etimadpour in a thrilling semifinal match, winning three sets to two, 11-2, 7-11, 2-11, 11-9, 11-7.
Last week, the Qatar Squash Federation hosted the third edition of the Qatar International Squash Championship, classified under the bronze tier, which saw Egyptian player Tarek Momen taking the title.
Mr. Tariq Zainal, the General Secretary of the Qatar Tennis, Squash & Badminton Federation, congratulated the winners on their achievements, expressing his wishes for their continued success in the future.
Zainal stated, “We are pleased with the high level of technical skill demonstrated by the players in the championship. The federation is committed to providing all the necessary facilities to support the excellence of all players and to reinforce our efforts to develop this sport on various levels.”
He emphasized that the federation is keen on increasing the number of tournaments to meet the significant growth the sport is experiencing and to support the journey of Qatari players towards professionalism.
