Exciting matches on the card as Qatar QTerminals Classic 2022 starts

A total of 16 matches are on the cards today, the first day of action at the Qatar QTerminals Classic 2022, with world No. 44 and Qatar’s star player, Abdulla Al Tamimi, who is leading Qatar’s challenge at the tournament, facing India’s Ramit Tandon, world No. 35, in the last match of the day.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s World No.1 Ali Farag is returning to Doha for the first time since taking victory in 2020, as he starts his 2022-2023 season as the top seed for the tournament.

With most of the top-seeded players given first-round byes, Malaysia’s Eain Yow Ng, who pushed into the top 20 in the World Rankings for the first time in 2021, will be up against Auguste Dussourd of France, in what is expected to be one of the most exciting matches of the day.

Other matches to watch out for are World No. 24 Adrian Waller of England versus Swiss No.2 Dimitri Steinmann, who has already notched up eight wins before the age of 24, and England’s Patrick Rooney, ranked No. 23, against Mahesh Mangaonkar of India.

In the other matches, Egypt’s Mohamed ElSherbini will be up against Spain’s Borja Golan, while Hong Kong’s Henry Leung will square up against Leicester-born George Parker, the World No. 34, while the world’s No. 36, Leonel Cardenas of Mexico, will be up against Zahed Salem of Egypt.
