Never easy, but Coll through in three
It’s so great to watch Borja, 36, as feisty as he ever was, never giving up, never saying “when”, and still able to put some tremendous pressure on the top 5 guys…
Yes, a few errors here and there, but Paul had to work pretty hard and keep on his toes for the whole duration…
Best proof of that was the 3rd game, point for point till 8/8 and it’s only in the last points that Paul was able to keep Borja far away enough from the ball to prevent him from counter dropping or retrieving…
A very entertaining match for sure, Paul will be very happy to get away with a 3/0 victory here…

I feel very happy. He came out like a cut-snake in that first game, he was very attacking and playing at a high intensity and it caught me off guard a little bit. I was a bit unsettled in those early rallies.
Once I found my lines, I really enjoyed the court. You get a lot of rewards for a good shot on this court. I am really happy to get off in three and it was a good second round match for me. The court was nice as long as you play good squash. You can get caught out if they are in front of you and they are playing well because it makes it really hard to defend. It is quite a cold court, so whoever is hitting their targets the most really applies the pressure most because you get such rewards for a good shot.
It has been a good tournament so far but I have got eyes on much further down the line. I am just taking it match-by-match and not getting caught up in it. I am really happy today but I am also looking ahead to my next match.
