The competitions of QSF 3 Challenger began at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash complex on Wednesday.
Home favorite Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi returns to defend his title at the event which brings together 24 players.
Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi claimed the bronze medal of Men’s squash event at Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games concluded recently.
Qatar will be also represented by the two wild-card entrants Salem Al Malki and Ahmed Al Tamimi.
Eain Yow comes in as the No.1 seed having won his last Challenger Tour event, the Cannon Kirk GillenMarkets Irish Squash Open back in April, and more recently claimed individual gold at the Asian Games.
He will face either Yannik Omlor or Yassin Elshafei in the second round and could play James in the last four, should both players progress that far.
The Tournament Director Saad Al-Mohannadi, said “This event attracts a stellar lineup of professional players who are eager to compete in the tournaments organized by Doha. As a result, we anticipate a high level of technical in the tournament.”
Al-Mohannadi stressed that team Qatar star Abdulla Al-Tamimi will return to the event to defend his title in following his bronze medal at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games in China.
The total prize money for this knockout-format tournament is $30,000.
