Today, Wednesday, marked the commencement of the third edition of the Qatar International Squash Championship for Men (2024), organized by the Qatar Squash Federation at the Khalifa International Complex.

The tournament will continue until May 26th, featuring a selection of the world’s top squash stars.
The tournament boasts the participation of 24 players, led by the world number eight, Egyptian player Tarek Momen, followed by Egyptian player Ali Abou Eleinen, ranked 13th globally, and Malaysian player Eain Yow, ranked third in the tournament and 15th globally.
Additionally, the championship witnesses the participation of Qatari star Abdullah Al-Tamimi, ranked 21st globally, who will compete on his home turf in front of his fans.
Al-Tamimi has previously clinched titles at the Qatar International Squash Championship in its third, fourth, and fifth editions in 2023.
Player Youssef Essam Faraj, ranked 398th globally, received a wildcard invitation to participate in this tournament, where he will face Indian player Velavan Senthilkumar in the first round.
The total prize money for this bronze-tiered tournament amounts to $53,500.
Mr. Saad Al-Muhannadi, the tournament director, affirmed the readiness of the Khalifa International Complex to present a distinguished edition of the championship, which annually attracts the game’s stars worldwide. He emphasized the federation’s commitment to delivering the best organizational standards for the tournament.
The tournament director welcomed all players to Doha, wishing them to showcase strong performances throughout the competition days.
