Following the match, Mr. Tariq Zainal, Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation, and Mr. Saad Al-Mohannadi, Executive Director of the Federation and Tournament Director, awarded Tarek Momen the championship trophy and Ali Abouel-Einen the runner-up trophy, along with honoring the tournament referees.
After the conclusion of the tournament, Mr. Saad Al-Mohannadi congratulated Tarek Momen on winning the major title, highlighting the intense competition throughout the event. He noted that Tarek’s ability to maintain his excellence and secure the title after a thrilling final against Ali Abouel-Einen delighted the audience.
Tarek Momen expressed his joy at winning the championship. In a press statement following his victory, he said:
“I’m very happy to win this title after a tough contest with Ali Abouel-Einen, who is a talented player. The match wasn’t easy, and despite losing points at the start, I managed to make a comeback and claim the win.”
When asked about his slow start, Tarek explained:
“I didn’t get into the game’s rhythm early on—perhaps age played a factor. I don’t like to say this, but it’s a reality. Despite warming up well, I struggled to match Ali Abouel-Einen’s speed. However, I made a strong comeback and won the title, thank God.”
Ali Abouel-Einen had advanced to the semifinals after defeating Abdulla Al-Tamimi 3-1, while Tarek Momen secured his spot by beating Colombian Miguel Rodriguez 3-1.
