The 2nd Khalifa Squash Complex Open tournament was concluded yesterday at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex with participation of 50 players.
Yousef Essam claimed the title of Professional event after beating Salim Al Malki 3-0 in the final match.
For his part, Yousef Al Malki hoisted the trophy of men’s event following his 3-0 victory over Ahmed Mandour.
In women’s event, Eman Al Ghareeb took the first place ahead of Nour Ghonaim in the second place.
Ali Darwish won boys under 15 years event after beating Ali Awda in the final match while Abdulrahman Mohamed clinched the title of boys under 17 years event following his victory over Nasser Al Sharshani.
The Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF) Executive Director and the Tournament’s Director Saad Al Mohannadi crowned the winners.
“The tournament will help develop Squash in the state of Qatar as the federation is keen to provide Qatari athletes with opportunity to participate in a large number of tournaments on both local and international levels” Al Mohannadi said.
He also added that this tournament is being held during the holy month of Ramadan to maintain the players’ technical and physical levels and promote a healthy lifestyle throughout the year.
