World No.1s Mostafa Asal and Nouran Gohar Lead the Line-Up for the 2025 QTerminals Qatar Classic Squash Championship

Doha — The Qatar Squash Federation has confirmed its readiness to host the QTerminals Qatar Classic Squash Championship 2025, which will take place from September 28 to October 4 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. The tournament will feature 64 male and female players, representing the world’s top-ranked stars in both categories.

This event marks the first Platinum-level stop on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour for the 2025–2026 season.

Heading the star-studded line-up are the world’s number-one ranked Egyptians, Mostafa Asal and Nouran Gohar, underscoring the strength and stature of the tournament on the global squash calendar.

The men’s draw will also see the return of Peru’s Diego Elias, World No.2 and defending champion from 2024, alongside New Zealand’s Paul Coll (World No.3), Wales’ Joel Makin (World No.4), and British stars Marwan ElShorbagy and Mohamed ElShorbagy.

On the Qatari side, hopes rest on national star Abdulla Al-Tamimi (World No.22), joined by Salem Al-Malki and Ali Al-Darwish, both competing through wild cards.

In the women’s draw, Egypt’s Nour El Sherbini, World No.2 and defending champion from 2024, will be among the main contenders, as well as compatriot Hania El Hammamy (World No.3) and England’s Georgina Kennedy (World No.4).

The total prize money amounts to $231,500 for the men’s competition and the same for the women’s, further reinforcing the championship’s reputation as one of the most prestigious Platinum events.

Mr. Tariq Zainal, Secretary-General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation and Tournament Director, stated:

The Federation has completed all organizational and technical preparations to deliver a tournament worthy of its distinguished history and status. Hosting such a high-profile roster of top-ranked players reflects the international sports community’s confidence in Qatar’s capabilities and our constant readiness to stage world-class events.”

He also expressed his gratitude to QTerminals, the title sponsor of the event, as well as other partners for their crucial support in consolidating the tournament’s standing among the world’s leading squash championships. He assured fans that they can expect thrilling, high-level competition throughout the week.

The Qatar Squash Federation has already opened ticket sales through its official website, giving fans the opportunity to attend matches and cheer for their favorite stars.
